We were lucky enough to be graced by the presence of Gus Donaghy and Rebecca Barnes on belly today. Too bad if you missed the chat\u00a0but don’t despair, i’ll fill you in…<\/p>\n

Playing in the bush is where it all began actually,\u00a0as they stumbled across some delicious wild berries on some land they were exploring.\u00a0It made sense that with the right amount of love and direction, those wild, unruly delicious\u00a0berries and many other native fruits, nuts, seeds\u00a0and foods could be a source of seasonal\u00a0pleasure that provide us with all the\u00a0purest \u00a0nutrients nature intended.<\/p>\n

Foods –\u00a0from the lush tropical and sub-tropical\u00a0rainforests,\u00a0coastal sand dunes,\u00a0cool mountains\u00a0and arid desert –\u00a0are\u00a0growing in their natural environment yet we are blinded by flourescent lights and plastic coverings that protect our chemical laden food\u00a0and we somehow fail\u00a0to\u00a0notice that we have forgotten what real food actually is…<\/p>\n

LOCAL !!! ORGANIC !!! WHOLEFOODS !!! NATIVE !!! SEASONAL !!! …<\/p>\n
… this is the food we should be eating ! Spray free, loved and nutured… any or all of the above. Our bodies will crave what grows around us if you take the time to stop and listen. Maybe you can stop and listen\u00a0to what Rebecca has to say about what it is they do at one of the markets. I\u00a0found her at the Bangalow weekend market which is the\u00a04th Sunday of the month.<\/p>\n
In the meantime though i can fill you in on a thing or two…<\/p>\n
All of their products –\u00a0which range from Rainforest Fruit Jellies to Tea Infusions to Indigenous Spices and Flavourings to Gourmet Treats, oh and don’t forget the rainforest produce such as Davidsons Plums and Bunya Bunya Nuts – are as nature created them. Free of genetically modified ingredients, artificial colours, flavours or preservatives and highly nutritious. We are so blessed in this area with the quality and integrity of our food producers.<\/p>\n
One of my favorite things about these guys\u00a0is that they are so big on the educational side of things. Knowledge brings awareness, brings change, brings inspiration to\u00a0people so that they\u00a0may open their eyes\u00a0and notice\u00a0more, like what is around us on the very land we stand on. … and if all of that wasn’t enough they also offer Plantation Tours\u00a0which is a 40 minute wander through mature plantation trees, learning while exploring different\u00a0smells and tasting seasonal produce mmmm… did someone say tasting ??<\/p>\n
